The Athabasca Sand Dunes Provincial Park is a wilderness park along the south shore of Lake Athabasca in northern Saskatchewan. The park is home to the most northerly dune formations in the world, which run from 400 to 1,500 m (1,312 to 4,921 ft) long and up to 30 m (98 ft) high, and is characterized by the unique dunes, pebble covered surfaces and sand blasted structures. Evidence of native First Nation use dating back approximately 7,000 years can also be found. Visitors should check with the conservation office prior to entering the area, park has no services and no user fee.
