This large Centre features interactive displays, wildlife dioramas, an activity center and a movie theatre. Films are shown throughout the day, highlighting the areas birds, wetlands, and cultural history. At the Interpretive Center, guests can discover how the Canadian Air Force used the Lakes during World War II, why the lakes are so important to the endangered Piping Plover and other wildlife, and how wildlife organizations are working to conservation the Lakes valuable resources. At the Activity Center, discover the wonders of migration and learn what tactics birds have developed for feeding in the Canada's largest saline lake.

The Centre features a wetland diorama with waterfowl, an interactive map of the Foam Lake Heritage Marsh, interpretive displays and an activity center for children. A short hiking trail next to the Centre allows visitors to stretch their legs, and view songbirds, while strolling beside Milligan Creek- headwaters of the Quill Lakes. The Visitor Center carries a full line of local, regional, and provincial travel information, internet/e-mail service, picnic, camping, and rest stop services. Located next to the Centre is the Douglas Pioneer Home where on designated days throughout the summer season guests can sample fresh bread baked in an outdoor clay oven. There is no entrance fee.
